Trainer Doug Harrison was thrilled with in form galloper Alrouz‘s Sandown win today.
The rising 10-year-old lined up on Wednesday over 1800 metres in the Le Pine Funerals Handicap and came from mid-field to post his second win in three runs at the track.
After changing the Veteran’s training regime, Alrouz appears to be relishing the new approach turning up to the races fresh.
The stable veteran Alrouz “can be a bit of a cranky old man, so he does a lot of swimming and working through the sand tracks out the back at Cranbourne” Harrison said.
“He’s a naturally clean-winded horse and does go well fresh,” Harrison said.
Ethan Brown gave Alrouz an uncomplicated ride and should be commended on his poise and professionalism.
Taking his career earnings to over 350k, the son of the Harrison owned Fayrouz mare has been a bit of fun!
Congratulations to owners and Doug Harrison Racing.
